CUSTER COUNTY – Fire crews from Ansley and Miller responded Tuesday morning to a semi that caught fire along Highway 183.
Miller Fire Chief Phillip Schroeder said Ansley Fire and Rescue requested mutual aid at about 5:45 a.m.
The truck was hauling hay when the fire happened about one mile north of the Custer/Buffalo County line near 775 Road.
The truck was a total loss and the trailer suffered heavy damage to its front end. Some hay bales were lost but about 15 were saved.
Custer County Sheriff Dan Osmond said the driver was not injured.
