Sasse to Biden: “Kids Need to be Back in School Now”
February 23rd, 2021 | Sen. Ben Sasse

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Ben Sasse issued the following statement after Biden Press Secretary Jen Psaki revealed that the majority of the Administration’s funding request for the re-opening of K-12 schools will be spent in 2023 or later.

“Kids need to be back in school now. The Biden Administration should be following the science and getting kids back into classrooms. Instead, they are delaying while poor kids are hurt most. Working families have been hit hard by this pandemic and empty promises from Washington aren’t going to cut it. Congress has already put billions of dollars toward K-12 education since the beginning of the pandemic and tens of billions of those dollars are still unspent and available today to get our kids back in their classrooms. America’s families need to see results.”
