Rural Crete fatality under investigation

     The Saline County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate a fatality accident that occurred near Crete along Highway 33 Thursday afternoon.   A news release states they were notified around 4:21pm of a crash involving a semi-tractor trailer and a motorcycle.   

     First responders from the Crete Rescue, Deputies from the Saline County Sheriff’s Office and Officers from the Crete Police Department responded to the scene.

    It was determined that the motorcycle, driven by 24-year-old Juan Lopez-Adame  of Crete, was westbound when a semi-trailer truck was completing an eastbound

turn onto the highway.  The investigation revealed that the motorcyclist lost control and was ejected from the motorcycle.  Lopez-Adame was later life flighted to Bryan

LGH West where he subsequently died. An autopsy has been ordered.  Lopez-Adame was wearing a helmet, 

    The operator of the semi-tractor trailer was identified as 50-year-old Ross Luebbe from York, NE.
