Lexington-Pinnacle Bank of Lexington won its third game in a row with a 7-3 victory over Gothenburg on Tuesday night. Lexington scored once in the first, twice in the second and three times in third to take control of the game. The Melons did fight back with two runs in the top of the sixth but Lexington was able to hold on for the win. Greysen Strauss picked up his second win of the season for Pinnacle Bank. He went six strong innings giving up just three runs on two hits as he walked three and had eight strike outs. At the plate, Greg Treffer led Lexington as he was 4-4, Daven Naylor also had three hits for Lexington with two rbis and Jackson Konrad drove in three. For Gothenburg, Tubby Baker had a triple and scored two runs as the Melons lost their fourth straight to drop to 6-10. Lexington is now 8-14 plays at Holdrege on Wednesday night.
