HOLDREGE – Pinnacle Bank of Lexington got their revenge on Wednesday night against First State Bank of Holdrege in a 16-5 rout. After Holdrege shutout Lexington on Tuesday, June 15, they played host to Lexington and saw a different outcome. Click here to listen to the broadcast.
Lexington came out early and scored 6 runs in the first 2 innings. Holdrege was able to get back 5 of those runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning. That would be the end of the Holdrege offense as Pinnacle Bank’s Jacksen Konrad shut them down the next 3 innings. Konrad’s pitching effort, along with a very strong performance at the plate by the rest of the team, overpowered First State Bank.
First State Bank was led by Dashton Edren with 2 RBIs, while Jeremiah Johnson went 2-3 with an RBI and a run scored.
Pinnacle Bank celebrated a number of successful players at the plate. They tallied 16 total hits, 8 walks, and suffered only 4 strikeouts. Ubaldo Anaya, Conlan Kjar, Topher Swartz, and Jase Carpenter all had 3 hits. Carpenter hit a 2-run home run in the 5th inning.
Jacksen Konrad allowed only 2 runs through 5 innings of work. He had 8 strikeouts and scored 2 runs. His dominating performance on the mound earned him the Husker Irrigation Player of the Game.
Pinnacle Bank of Lexington improved to 9-14 on the season. First State Bank of Holdrege fell to 3-11.
Lexington will travel to St. Paul on Tuesday, June 29.
