KEARNEY – The Overton Eagles swept their way to a conference title Thursday night for the first time since 2016. Overton defeated S-E-M 25-19, 25-20, 25-19.

Playing in their sixth straight FKC championship match, the Eagles stayed poised the entire match even as S-E-M took leads in all but the second set. The Mustangs made it tough in each set, but in the end couldn’t stop Overton. Eagle sophomore, JoLee Ryan led all players with 15 kills. Natalie Wood chipped in 11 kills and one ace serve in the victory. Kenzie Scheele had seven kills and two ace serves in the victory. In the loss, S-E-M saw Mikah O’Neill finish with 13 kills while Abbie Rohde served two aces and four kills. S-E-M appeared in the FKC title game for the first time since 2006.

In the third place game, Pleasanton swept Amherst 25-19, 25-23, 25-22. A multitude of self inflicted errors by the Broncos would be their demise. Bulldog senior Chelsea Fisher had a monster night with 22 kills and one ace serve in guiding her team to the win. Regan Weisdorfer finished with 15 kills and one ace. In the losing effort, Hannah Herrick led Amherst with 11 kills and one ace while Tenley Hadwiger had nine kills and three ace serves.
