BEAVER CITY, NE – Opening statements were made this morning in the jury trial of William “Billy” Quinn in Beaver City, Nebraska.

Quinn is accused of sexual assault and human trafficking of a young girl over a 7 month period ending in January 2020 when suspicious activity was reported to the Furnas County Sheriff’s Office.

In opening statements Furnas County Attorney Morgan Farquhar outlied the states case indicating Quinn had groomed the alleged victim and sexually assaulted her when he knew she was 15 and 16 years old and offered her to friends and strangers alike.

Defense Attorney Mallory Hughes alleged the victim in the case was attempting to scam the men she had contact with. Hughes said the alleged victim was making decisions on her own and and also previously made false allegations against a man.
