BERTRAND – A new pool will be coming to the Bertrand community by May 25, 2022. Construction is set to begin in the next coming weeks.

Bertrand Village Clerk Lori Vinzant states that RMV Construction out of Kearney has been contracted for the project. The pool will be a zero-entry swimming pool with three lap lanes, a diving board, play features, dump buckets, water features, a climbing wall, and more.

The new pool will be constructed at the location of the previous community pool on Nelson street. The previous pool and its foundation, constructed in the 1960s, will not be re-used in any capacity.

A bond in May was passed for a $2.5 million project, as the bid for the general contractor was set at $2.3 million.

A pool manager has already been placed on staff that has aided with the pool community, with four lifeguards on deck during regular hours. The pool will also have a regular staff of 10 lifeguards.
