Nebraska Auctioneers get ready for annual convention
April 17th, 2021 | Clay Patton

The Nebraska Auctioneers Association is set to host their annual convention in person April 30th through May 2nd in Hastings Nebraska. The 2020 convention was unable to happen due to the global pandemic. President of the Nebraska Auctioneers Association Travis Augustin says he expects a good turnout as the annual convention is a time of networking and catching up with old friends.

The annual convention kicks off with real estate continuing education classes on Friday morning. Then as noon its the fast paced and exciting state auctioneer and ring man contest. Once state champion has been crowned in the afternoon it’s a quick turnaround to set up for the Grand buffet and fun auction. Augustin highlights that everyone has a good time at the fun auction and the stories from the long time leaders in the business are pricless.

Saturday of the convention brings the annual membership meeting and legislative update. Augustin says there are no active bills in the Unicameral that directly impact the auction industry, but there is plenty of legislation that could impact auctioneers other businesses and communities. Saturday ends with another fun night and dueling piano entertainment.

Sunday ends the convention with awards for the advertising contest and installation of new officers in the leadership of the state association. Throughout the convention there are breakout sessions over a broad variety of topics. Along with a trade show.
