National Police Week Memorial Ceremony

Kearney — In observance of National Police Week (May 11 – 17) and Peace Officers Memorial Day (Sunday May 15) members of the Kearney Police Department and Buffalo County Sheriff’s Department will host a Police Memorial Ceremony in front of the City of Kearney/Buffalo County Law Enforcement Center (LEC) on Monday, May 16 at 5:30 p.m. Officers will take a moment to remember Law Enforcement Officers killed in the line of duty and thank our community for the continued support. There will be a National Anthem solo, a ceremonial placing of a wreath at the base of the flag pole accompanied by bag pipes, the playing of Taps and a Police Honor Guard rifle firing party. In addition to remarks from several distinguished guests.  

There will be temporary traffic delays near the LEC, 21st Avenue and A Avenue during the ceremony. The public is welcome to attend.
