GOTHENBURG – The Minden Whippets remain perfect on the season after sweeping Gothenburg 25-16, 25-11, 25-22 Thursday night. Minden improved to 19-0 and still have yet to lose a set.
The first two sets were mostly handled by Minden, but Gothenburg grabbed their first lead to start the third and battled to the end before finishing just short of extending the match.
In the win, Mattie Kamery led Minden with 16 kills and had two ace serves. Myla Emery contributed 10 kills and a team high four ace serves. As a team, the Whippets dominated from the service line, finishing with 11 aces. In the loss, Zoe Beveridge led Gothenburg with eight kills. Lindly Anderson added seven kills and two ace serves while Halsey Thomalla chipped in five kills. Gothenburg fell to 9-7 and is currently riding a four match losing streak.
Up next, Gothenburg will head to Hershey for a Saturday tournament while Minden will participate in the Holdrege tournament Saturday.
