Local Players Compete well at NSAA Meet

Lincoln- A number of area players came away with medals at the NSAA girls state tennis tournaments that wrapped up on Friday. In Class B number one singles, Emily Cornwell of Gothenburg placed 8th in the Swedes first year of having a team. Luna Mo Anna Warner of Kearney Catholic was 6th in that division. In Class B number two singles, Makenzie Schroeder of Kearney Catholic was 8th. Lexington came home with two medals from the event. In Class B number two doubles, Haley Hernandez and Kayleigh Cetak were 4th while Jaci Meyers and Carley Peters of McCook placed 5th. In Class B number one doubles, Marianna McDowell and Gracey Smith placed 8th as they lost to Isabelle Clause and Abigail Johnson of McCook who finished 7th. In Class A action in Omaha, Kearney’s Olivia Flood was 7th in number one singles, while Emma Heacock was 3rd in number two singles.
