Lexington Police arrest man on DWI, Reckless Driving & Joyriding

Lexington, Neb. — Lexington Police Department says a man who evaded them for a few hours while first driving a pickup pulling a trailer and then abandoning that for a motorcycle faces some charges.

Lexington Police on Wednesday, June 22, acted on a complaint at 9:50 a.m. of a man in a green pickup pulling a trailer that was driving in a reckless manner who was involved in a hit and run accident. The pickup, still attached to the trailer, belonging to Jim Phillips Construction, was found abandoned in northwest Lexington, north of the intersection of Airport Road and 20th Street. It was learned that the subject driving the vehicle was employed by Jim Phillips Construction.

While Lexington Police were processing that information, they received a report of a motorcycle driving recklessly on the north side of town near the Lexington swimming pool and on North Adams Street.
Police attempted to get the motorcycle rider to stop, but were unsuccessful.

Shortly after 11:00 a.m., the subject showed up at Phillips Construction near the intersection of Airport Road and 13th Street and was arrested at 11:30 a.m. and placed in the Dawson County Jail.

31 year old Manuel Jimenez Jr. of Lexington faces several charges including: Driving While Intoxicated; Willful Reckless Driving; Driving On A Suspended License; Driving Without a Motorcycle License; Driving Without a Helmet and Unauthorized Use of a Motorcycle, as the owner reported it stolen.
