Lexington and Kearney Split Matchups

Kearney and Lexington squared off in soccer on Tuesday night in Kearney. In the girls game Kearney was able to hang on for 1-0 win over the Minutemaids. The Bearcats outshot Lexington 26-2, as Alyssa Winter made 25 saves. In the boys game the 2nd ranked Minutemen improved to 7-1 on the year with a 2-1 victory. Lexington jumped out quickly with a goal from Yoskar Galvan on a penalty kick in the 5th minute and Freddy Vargas found the back of the net in the 14th minute. Kearney’s goal came when Ryland Garrett scored in the 34th minute off an assist from James Dakan. The Bearcats are now 3-3.
