Kinze announced today that it will be implementing a reduction in its workforce, citing “the ongoing economic downturn in the agricultural sector.”
The reduction affects 193 of Kinze’s 815 employees – almost 25% – in Williamsburg, Iowa.
“We deeply regret the necessity of this action,” said Susanne Veatch, President of Kinze. “This decision was not made lightly, and it is a direct response to current ag market realities.”
Kinze is a manufacturer of planters, grain carts and tillage equipment.
The move follows a similar action by John Deere, as the ag equipment manufacturer cut thousands of employees.
