Kearney Police Department responded to an assault on Tuesday, May 4 at 3pm at the Target store, 4800 3rd Ave.
Officers determined that a 24-year-old female had been assaulted by an unknown adult male inside the temporary restrooms. The female was able to fight off her attacker, but the suspect fled on foot. Officers were able to locate 23-year-old Bryan Morales-Contreras, and his being held at Buffalo County Jail in relation to the incident on charges of strangulation and false imprisonment.
