For many of rural America’s communities the tallest structure in town is the grain elevator. Inman, Kansas is no different and Mindy Allen gave the grain elevator a face lift this summer.

Allen who is the owner of Mindy’s murals took on her largest project to date to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Inman. The mural is 108 feet tall by 49 feet wide and celebrates the history of Inman. She talks about the different pieces of the mural and their significance to Inman.

The project was the largest to date for Allen who spent 6 weeks on the mural with few delays due to weather, mostly winds.

While she loves being close to home she is willing to travel anywhere to do work if the expenses are paid and views the travel as an opportunity to see places that she might not otherwise be able to see.

Allen also encouraged folks that make the trip to Inman to check out the museum located in Inman and enjoy everything the community has to offer.
