KEARNEY, NE – A National Tour of 300 animal shelters called Jordan’s Way is coming to Kearney on Thursday, March 30th from 10:30 to 1:30 at the American Legion, to raise money for the K-9 Freekz Rescue.

K-9 Freekz Rescue, started by founders Joni Fitzpatrick and Heather Bennett, is coming up on its ninth year in May with over 200 volunteers help foster and take care of the dogs they rescue.

Fitzpatrick says they were picked to be one of the 300 animal shelters across the nation to host Jordan’s Way, a live social media event that helps raise money to not only feed, spay, neuter and other thing to help operate a shelter or rescue, but also inspire people to adopt. Fitzpatrick explains how Jordan’s Way was started.

Fitzpatrick says the event will be broadcasted on their Facebook page, and this is what people will see.

Other challenges that viewers will see is someone with a glitter beard, a man getting a leg wax, and many others with all the challenges happening after a certain amount of money is raised or matched.

Fitzpatrick says volunteers, business owners, Kearney celebrities, and more will be participating in the challenges.

K-9 Freekz Rescue will be taking donations with a goal of $25,000. For more information go to the K-9 Freekz Rescue Facebook Page.
