Former 4-star prospect and Grand Island native Isaac Traudt has announced his commitment to Creighton on Friday. The 6-10 forward was with Virginia during the 2022-23 season as a redshirt. Traudt cited a desire to be closer to home as the driving force behind choosing Creighton. The announcement comes with little surprise after Traudt entered the transfer portal on Monday.

Coming out of Grand Island Senior High, Traudt was a highly sought-after recruit. His style of play is predicted to pair well with the coaching philosophy of Doug McDermott. Redshirt sophomore John Christofilis entered the transfer portal earlier this week, making it possible to Traudt to earn a scholarship.

The Blue Jays made it to their first ever Elite Eight in this year’s NCAA Tournament. They fell to #5 seed San Diego State 57-56 on Sunday, March 26.
