Report from Coach Sam Jilka-A limited group of Minutemen and Minutemaids represented Lexington at the Concordia Bulldog Indoor Invite, Thursday, in Seward. For the Minutemaids, most of the competitors were in field events and Kalli Sutton started her season with a respectable 8’ 6” vault in pole vault to place 6 th . Jumpers Reese Kuecker and Mady Wolfe both went over 32’ to place 2nd and 3rd respectively, in the triple jump. Distance runner, Susana Calmo improved over twenty seconds compared to last year’s 1600 meter result at this meet to place 5th in a time of 6:09. Senior Greysen Strauss leaped to a new personal best of 6’ 2” in the high jump to be the event winner and placed sixth in the triple jump to lead the Minutemen in field events. Meanwhile, Morgan Bailey earned a sixth place medal with a vault of 11’ 6” in pole vault.

On the track, distance runners Oscar Aguado and Laz Adame went 1-2 in the 1600 meters running 4:43.4 and 4:43.9, and then helped the 1600 meter relay earn a third place medal in a time of 3:46.8 with Laz having the fast split amongst the group. An additional distance runner, Junior Miguel Cruz, also helped the Minutemen’s cause by placing second in the 3200 meters with a time of 10:35.2. To round out the Minutemen’s team scoring, Dru Truax placed third in the 400 meters with a time of 55.47.
