Daddy-Daughter date nights planned at area YMCAs

YMCA of the Prairie branches in Holdrege, Lexington and Gothenburg will help fathers strengthen their bonds with their daughters at annual Father-Daughter Date Nights featuring fun themes, delicious food and bonding activities.

YMCA at Gothenburg Health, Gothenburg

The YMCA at Gothenburg Health (910 20th St.) will host its annual Father-Daughter date night on Saturday, January 26, from 6-8 p.m. This year’s theme is Unicorns. The evening will feature dinner, dancing and games and takes place in the YMCA gym.

The event is for girls ages 4 and older and their dads or father figures. The fee is $40 per dad/daughter and $7 each additional daughter for members and $55 per dad/daughter and $10 each additional daughter for non-members.

Orthman Community YMCA, Lexington

The Orthman Community YMCA in Lexington (1207 N. Grant) will host a FIESTA! daddy-daughter date night on Friday, Feb. 11, at 5:30 p.m. The evening will include a meal featuring tacos, chips and salsa, fruit, and tres leches cake; dancing; crafts; a piñata; and party favors. The event takes place at the Dawson County Fairgrounds exhibit building. The attire is up to attendees, who may dress formal, casual or along with the theme.

The Lexington event is for girls ages 3-8th grade and their dads or father figures. The fee is $30 per dad/daughter and $10 each additional daughter. Registration is due by Feb. 3 by calling the YMCA at (308) 324-1970, stopping by the YMCA or registering online at www.orthmanymca.org.

The Orthman YMCA will also host a Mother-Son Nerf Night on Friday, Feb. 11, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Registration is $10 per mother/son ($5 each additional son) and is due by Feb. 3.

Don Sjogren Community YMCA, Holdrege

The Don Sjogren Community YMCA in Holdrege will host the annual Daddy-Daughter Snowflake Ball from 6-8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 25, at the Holdrege City Auditorium. This year’s theme is Boots & Beauties and will feature a country theme with pink and silver colors and country barnstyle décor designed by Something Beautiful Weddings and Events (Kim Reiners).

Dads and daughters will enjoy an evening of country fun featuring a meal catered by HA Catering, professional photography by Amy Lohmeyer and Kimberly Powers and a DJ who will teach country line dances and help dads and daughters swing, two-step and boogie the night away together. Students with the HHS FCCLA will guide daughters in making a necklace or bracelet and mason jar trail mix.

Attendees are encouraged to wear their Sunday best or their boots and fancy cowboy/cowgirl attire.

The Holdrege event is for girls ages 4 and older and their dads or father figures. The fee is $45 per dad/daughter ($15 each additional daughter) for members and $65 per dad/daughter ($25 each additional daughter) for non-members. Registration is due by Feb. 16 by calling the YMCA at (308) 995-4050, stopping by the YMCA or registering online at www.ymcaoftheprairie.org.
