July 15th, 2024 | News Release

Did you know the USDA developed the first cultivated blueberry bush in 1916 from wild varieties? July is National Blueberry Month, a perfect time to celebrate this nutrient-dense food.

According to the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, whole fruits such as blueberries are part of a healthy dietary pattern, yet less than 20% of Americans meet the recommended daily fruit intake. The USDA Agricultural Research Service highlights that blueberries are rich in antioxidants, fiber, and other beneficial compounds that may help reduce blood pressure and improve cognitive function.
