Wilber, Neb. — The woman convicted in the killing and dismemberment of Sydney Loofe of Lincoln has had her sentencing set. Saline County District Court records say 27 year old Bailey Boswell, is scheduled to be sentenced November 8 at 10:00 a.m. Boswell was convicted of first degree murder in October 2020 of Loofe’s death in 2017.
Boswell’s fate will be decided by a three judge panel. The panel has the option of sentencing Boswell to death or life in prison. Should she be given the death penalty, Boswell would become Nebraska’s first female death row inmate. She would join 12 other men on death row, including her accomplice Aubrey Trail, who was sentenced to death earlier this year for his role in the murder. The hearing will be held on the third floor of the Saline County Courthouse in Wilber.
