GOTHENBURG – In a battle of two of the better teams in the area, Amherst rallied to beat Gothenburg in five sets on Tuesday night, 18-25, 25.23, 18-25, 25-22, 15-13. Hannah Herrick came into the contest with 334 kills on the season and was dominant at times on Tuesday, racking up 22 kills against the Swedes. Tenley Hadwiger chipped in with 11 kills, a block and an ace. For Gothenburg, Clara Evert had a team-leading 19 kills, but they would come up just short. Both teams have tough sub-districts up-coming with the Swedes maybe being the toughest in the state. With the loss Gothenburg falls to 23-6, while Amherst improves to 21-6.
