B & B Veterinary Services is looking for a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant to join our team! We are a fast paced, busy mixed animal practice located in Lexington and Elwood. We provide a vast diversification of services in both large and small animals. In house diagnostics like digital X-ray, ultrasound, bloodwork, etc are available. This position can be tailored to suit a person's strength and advanced training is available. Experience is preferred, but we are willing to teach the right candidate. Ideal candidates should work well with others, have a positive attitude, and be a team player. Must be reliable, take initiative, and have the ability to multitask.

Job description- caring for animals (dogs, cats, horses, cattle, and more), placing IV catheters, monitoring IV fluids on hospitalized patients, medicating patients, giving injectable medications calculating drug dosages, restraining animals for veterinary work, running blood work, reading cytology slides, preparing samples to go to outside labs, monitoring patients under anesthesia, cleaning and polishing teeth during dentals, cleaning and autoclaving surgical instruments, taking x-rays, entering notes into medical records, interacting with clients, and more. Large animal tasks include: assisting doctors in processing, surgery, and routine annual herd health procedures.
