A Home Going Graveside Service for Reverend Warren L. Belfire will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege, Nebraska with Reverend Rick Ashbaugh officiating.  Military Honors will be provided by the United States Army Funeral Honors Team in conjunction with the Martin-Horn American Legion Post #66. Visitation will be held prior to the graveside service at the cemetery.

Rev. Warren Lee Belfire, 83 years of age, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on March 4, 2021 at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska. Warren was born on May 10, 1937, in Paterson, New Jersey, to William and Mary (Somelser) Hempel. He graduated from Bob Jones University in Greensville, South Carolina in 1971.

On June 17, 1962, Warren was united in marriage to Norma Jean Elkins at the Calvary Baptist Church in Illinois and to this union, the couple were blessed with four children: Vincent, Dawn, Sean, and Cindy.

Rev. Belfire entered into the ministry in 1968, and preached in hundreds of churches across the United States. He saw many souls come to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and many went off to Bible school or entered into services for the Lord. He loved everyone he met and was always ready to minister to any needs they might have. Warren’s heart and love for people is his lasting legacy. The people of Holdrege have been especially kind to him and his family and they express their gratitude for this kindness.

Warren was preceded in death by: his grandson, Robert Ashbaugh.

He leaves to celebrate his life; his loving wife of 58 years, Norma Jean Belfire of Holdrege; his children: Vincent Belfire and his wife, LeAnn of Buffalo Valley, Tennessee; Dawn Beals and her husband, James of Mosheim, Tennessee; Sean Belfire and his wife, Julie of Mooresville, Indiana; and Cindy Ashbaugh and her husband, Rick of Tipton, Missouri; two grandchildren: Josh Belfire and Jessie England of Mooresville, Indiana; one brother, Ken Hempel of San Francisco, California; as well as, a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial has been established in Warren’s honor and kindly suggested to Bob Jones University.
