Funeral Services for Beth Stephens will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska, with Chaplain DeWane Dow officiating.  Interment will follow at the Orleans Cemetery, Orleans, Nebraska.

Marilynn Beth Stephens, 75 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 1, 2021, at the University Hospital Cleveland Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio.  Beth was born on April 14, 1945, on a farm in Phillips County, Kansas, near Phillipsburg, the second of three children, born to Glenn and Celesta (League) Dennis.  Beth grew up in Kansas before moving to Gaston, Oregon at a young age for short time.  Then moving back to Republican City, Nebraska where she attended and graduated from Republican City High School, with the class of 1963.  She then pursued higher education from the Grand Island Business School, in Grand Island, Nebraska.

On June 28, 1964, Beth was united in marriage to Neil Stephens at the Methodist Church in Republican City, Nebraska and to this union three children were born:  Kip, Kent and Mindy.  The couple made their home in Holdrege.  Beth focused her efforts raising their children.

Beth’s talent of decorating cakes grew to her owning and operating her own business where she made cakes for weddings, birthdays, and other events.

In Beth’s spare time, she enjoyed gardening, scrap booking, and attending all her children and grandchildren’s events.  Her greatest joys were her family.

Beth was preceded in death by; her parents Glenn and Ferne Dennis; one sister-in-law, Betty Cowan and her husband, Glen.

Beth leaves to celebrate her life; her husband, Neil Stephens of Holdrege; her daughter, Mindy Stephens of Cleveland; her two sons:  Kip Stephens and his wife, Senja of Lexington, Nebraska; and Kent Stephens of Cleveland;  two granddaughters: Halle Stephens of Woodland Park, Colorado; and Gabrielle Stephens of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two brothers, Roger Dennis and his wife, Linda of Holdrege; and Glenn Dennis and his wife, Diane of Agra, Kansas; brother-in-law, Robert and Lela Stephens of Naponee, Nebraska; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 8, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.
