Anniversary Celebration Open House / Salem Methodist Church/ Axtell
Spring is here and it’s time to celebrate Salem Church! This year, 2023, marks the 140th anniversary of the organization of the first congregation of the Salem Swedish Methodist Episcopal Church and the 125th anniversary of the Church building. This celebration will be May 27, 2023 with an open house from 1 pm to 4 pm and a short program at 2.
It is hard to imagine what life was like on the prairie when the Swedish settlers homesteaded here but they came with their Bibles and a strong faith in God and now we are celebrating their legacy over a century later.
