Scottsbluff Police warn of email scams hitting the area
May 2nd, 2024 | News Release / KNEB News Staff

Scottsbluff Police are warning area residents to be vigilant about emails that may come from a local business appearing to be official, but in fact are scams trying to separate you from your money.

According to a release from the department, several local businesses have advised law enforcement that their emails systems have been compromised.

This compromise has caused emails to be sent out to customers asking for them to make an ACH payment or wire transfer.

Authorities say if you receive such a request, they recommend you call the business and verify before sending any form of payment.
