For a second straight season the Scottsbluff softball team is hosting a district final. The Cats will play Norris in a one day best-of-three series on Saturday with the winner advancing to the State Tournament next week.
Scottsbluff enters with a record of 21-7 and they’re coming off a 13-1 subdistrict title game win over Alliance on Monday.
Scottsbluff won a district final last year at home, sweeping Omaha Gross Catholic in two straight games.
The Cats are the No. 7 seed while Norris comes west as the No. 10 seed.
Norris has a record of 15-10 while playing a very tough schedule and they come in red hot after subdistrict wins over Beatrice and Wahoo; two teams that have spent time at No. 1 this season.
Both teams will rely on two main arms for the full day of action while Scottsbluff will look to utilize their athleticism and speed to find an advantage. On the year the Bearcats have a team total of 113 stolen bases while Norris has stolen a total of just 20 bases.
We’ll have coverage tomorrow on our KNEB.tv platforms Allo, Mobius, and STRIV to go along with the radio broadcast on 107.3 The Trail & KHYYfm.com starting at 9:45 in the morning with first pitch for game one at 10 am.
