Scottsbluff dominates Lincoln Northwest
In a game that went as expected Scottsbluff won their home opener over Lincoln Northwest 64-6 to improve to 2-0 on the season. Eric Sabala returned the opening kickoff 94 yards for a touchdown and the Bearcats never looked back as six different players scored touchdowns on the night.

Gering gets big win at Mitchell
For the first time since 2012 the Gering Bulldogs have started 2-0 as they won on the road over the Mitchell Tigers on Friday night by the final of 40-26. Gering opened the scoring early in the second quarter and never trailed.
Some highlights for the Bulldogs included…
- Rece Knight got the scoring started with a QB sneak for a TD early in the 2nd quarter
- After a Mitchell fumble Gering took advantage and Creighton Beals capped another scoring drive with a 5 yard TD run
- Mitchell got a long TD run in the second quarter from Sam Bowlin and Gering led at half 13-6
- Beals returned the opening kickoff of the second half 75 yards for a TD to make it 19-6 after a missed PAT
- Rece Knight then had a long 91 yard TD run as Gering started to put it away leading 25-6
- Late 3rd quarter it was Jordan McCarty with a 5 yd TD run for the Tigers and Gering’s lead was cut to 25-12
- Late 3rd quarter, Knight struck again for Gering with a 53 yard TD run and the 2 pt try was successful to give Gering the lead 33-12
- Early 4th quarter, Bo Gable for Gering a 75 yard TD run, PAT made it 40-12
- Mitchell would twice more on the night including a touchdown from AJ Garza
