11 13 Ministries has received a $3,000 grant from the Oregon Trail Community Foundation that will help the non-profit with its “By God’s Grace Mobile Meals” program.
Director Larry Massey says all of the grant was used to purchase a commercial convection oven and 20 coolers for the program started in April last year to assist facing food insecurities because of the pandemic.
During the period of April 19, 2020 – September 1, 2021, By God’s Grace Mobile Meals has delivered over 12,100 free, hot meal to the front door of some of the most vulnerable elderly and home-bound in six area communities.
Ia news release, Massie says every meal is a gift…a tangible expression of God’s love and grace to each person in need. Equipment purchased through the OTCF grant will greatly increase our capability to prepare and more effectively deliver these much-needed meals to area communities. The effect will be immediate!
The impact of the OTCF grant will be felt throughout the 11 13 Ministry umbrella. This grant immediately frees up more of our resources to reach other missions we perform that are tailored to specific target populations. More families in need during the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons will receive assistance. Our homeless/shelter insecure in and around the East Overland neighborhood will be better served. More food boxes, rent assistance, clothing funds, and travel assistance to area families and individuals is made possible.
11 13 Ministries receives referrals for assistance from private citizens, local churches, all local law enforcement entities, local media, and local support agencies. We respond…assess the need….and provide aid as we are able.
