Murder, Four Other Felonies Leveled at Torrington Man
April 29th, 2021 | Scott Miller

A Torrington man is facing multiple felonies, including murder, in connection with the series of events earlier this month that included the death of a 20-year-old woman.

In a statement released Thursday afternoon, Police Chief Matt Johnson says investigators met with the Goshen County Attorney’s office this afternoon and presented additional charges to be filed against 32-year-old Sean Logan Pettus.  Pettus is currently in custody at the Goshen County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center on Charges of First Degree Arson and Felony Theft of a Vehicle.

The additional charges are as follows:

1.      Murder in the First Degree (Wyoming Statute 6-2-101) for the Death of Madison Cook.

2.      Burglary (Wyoming Statute 6-3-301) for actions taken while committing the crime of First Degree Arson.

3.      Burglary (Wyoming Statute 6-3-301) for actions taken while committing the crime of Felony Theft of a Vehicle.

Torrington Police Department’s investigation is ongoing.  If you have information related to these crimes, and have not yet spoken with an investigator, please contact the Torrington Police Department at 307-532-7001 and ask to speak with Detective Wakamatsu.

The events of the past ten days have been incredibly traumatic for Madison’s family, her friends, and our entire community.  As we work to learn the truth and take this first step towards justice, we ask for continued support for the Cook family in their healing process.

No additional information is available at this time.
