Tourism in Scotts Bluff County and the rest of the state likely remained strong in July, based on lodging tax receipts reported Tuesday by the Nebraska Department of Revenue.
Net tax receipts for the County that month were slightly more than $59,000, up nearly 7.5% from June, 121% higher than the nearly $27,000 during the pandemic last July, and more than two percent higher than July of 2019.
Total net lodging taxes being refunded to all Nebraska counties were not quite as strong in July than in June, at just over $2.925 million compared to nearly $3.050 million respectively.
However, this year’s July lodging taxes were nearly double that of the same month last year, and $600,000 more than in July 2019.
