The City of Mitchell is moving on to their third police chief in the past 15 months.
The City Council is set to approve the hiring of Dominick Peterson as their newest chief following the departure of former Chief Matt Holcomb.
Holcomb was sworn in as the top law enforcement officer during the March, 2023 Mitchell City Council meeting, and Peterson was hired on at that time as a part time officer.
Former Police Chief Kevin Krzyznowski was fired by Mayor Paul Murrell in January, 2023 shortly after being elected into office.
The Council will vote on the hiring of Chief Peterson during Tuesday night’s meeting at 6:30 at City Hall.
