Legacy of the Plains Museum Monthly Speaker Series
The Legacy of the Plains Museum in Gering will be hosting their free monthly Speaker Series program on Tuesday, November 21st at 6p.m. Every month, the museum hosts a speaker or panel to discuss the rich and vibrant history of the region and the state.
Larry Gibbs will be the featured speaker. He will be presenting the history of the railroads in the area. Larry is a long-time resident of Gering and railroad enthusiast. He is the author of “Nebraska Sweet Beets: A History of Sugar Valley”, where he highlights the reliance the sugar beet industry had on the railroads.
