There was no season for York Cornerstone baseball in 2020 due to the pandemic. This year, they came back ready to play and ready to win. On Monday, the York Cornerstone Juniors wrapped up the regular season with a 19-5 win over Shelby-Osceola-Stromsburg. The Junior Kings finish the year at 20-8, eight wins more than the 12-19 record they had in 2019.
The bats this year have been on fire for the juniors. In total, six different Juniors are batting above .400. Isaac Stark leads the team in batting average (.479) and total runs scored (37). As a team, the juniors are hitting .355 at the plate.
Pitching has also been solid for the Junior Kings this season. In total, they have 180 strikeouts compared to 80 walks, and a team earned-run-average of 3.6.
The area tournament for the Juniors will be in York this year. It begins on Friday, July 9, and runs through Tuesday, July 13th. York opens up as a bye on Friday and will play their first game on Saturday. All games are in Levitt Stadium.

The Cornerstone Seniors lost to S.O.S. on Monday night and now sit with a 10-17 record on the season. The have a couple of regular season games left before they begin area play in Wahoo next week.
