York and Seward boys make Central Conference Championship, Girls semifinals tonight

SEWARD – Last night in the boys Central Conference tournament finals, the York Dukes (10-8) boys beat the Adams Central Patriots (7-11) in overtime 42-38 to advance to Saturday’s championship. The Dukes will be taking on the Seward Bluejays (8-8) in the final who knocked off Aurora (10-7) 49-33 in yesterday’s semifinals. Saturday’s Central Conference Championship game between the 2-seed York and the 5-seed Seward you can hear on Kool Radio. The tipoff from Seward High School is at 6 pm.

The girl’s semifinals of the Central Conference are tonight at Seward High school. The 2-seed York Dukes (14-3) girls team is taking on the 6-seed Aurora Huskies (4-11) in the semifinals, and the 9-seed Seward Bluejays (4-12) are playing the 5-seed Northwest Vikings (6-9). Tip for Seward and Northwest is at 6 pm, and York and Aurora is at 7:45. The winners will play in tomorrow’s championship game at 7:45 pm.

Programming note: KOOL Radio 103.5 FM, 95.9 FM and 1370 AM will broadcast the Central Conference Tournament Championship game between York vs. Seward at 6 pm Saturday. If either Seward or York makes the finals in the girl’s bracket, KOOL Radio will also provide the coverage.
