Lincoln-Wide receiver Samori Toure became the third Nebraska player selected in the 2022 NFL Draft on Saturday when he was picked by the Green Bay Packers in the seventh round. The 6-3, 190-pound Toure was the No. 258 overall pick in the draft.

Toure joined Cam Jurgens (2nd Round, Philadelphia) and Cam Taylor-Britt (2nd Round, Cincinnati) as Huskers selected in this year’s NFL Draft. Nebraska’s three selections are the most for the Huskers since having four players chosen in the 2016 NFL Draft.

A Portland, Ore., native, Toure is the first Nebraska receiver selected in the NFL Draft since Kenny Bell was picked in the fifth round in 2015. Toure joined the Huskers for the 2021 season after a standout career at Montana. He made the most of his lone season in Lincoln, catching 46 passes for 898 yards and five touchdowns over 12 games in 2021.

A member of the Biletnikoff Award Watch List and a third-team All-Big Ten selection, Toure tied the Nebraska season record with five 100-yard receiving games. He led the Big Ten and ranked 15th nationally by averaging 19.5 yards per catch, the second-highest total in school history. Toure’s 898 receiving yards also ranked sixth on Nebraska’s single-season receiving list.

Prior to transferring to Nebraska, Toure was an FCS All-American at Montana, where he caught 155 passes for 2,488 yards and 20 touchdowns in 36 games from 2016 to 2019.
