July 13th, 2021 | 104.9 Max Country

The No.4 seed Central City knocked out No. 3 Fairbury 10-5 on Tuesday to move to Wednesday’s championship game. No. 1 York was knocked out of the tournament late Tuesday night by No. 2 Sutton 6-5. York trailed by five runs going into the bottom of the seventh inning and was able to put up four runs, but ultimately came up short. The York Juniors finish the season at 21-10.

Sutton moves on to play Central City in the area championship. Because Central City has not lost yet in the double-elimination tournament, Sutton will need to beat them twice in order to win the title. The first pitch is at 5p.m. Wednesday, and if needed the second game will start shortly after.
