OMAHA – The Seward Blujays Football team traveled to Bryan High School to take on the Omaha Gross Cougars on Friday. The Bluejays were led by senior sensation Gavin Sukup who ran for three touchdowns and passed for another. Micah Hackbart scored on an interception and a pass completion to round out the scoring. The Seward defense had its hands full with the high powered Gross running formations throughout the game. Late in the fourth quarter the Bluejays were trailing 28-32 when they pulled ahead and the defense held Gross on a fourth down with 50 seconds remaining to seal the in. Seward improves to 2-0 and faces Crete next week. Omaha Gross falls to 1-1.
