Lexington, Neb. — U.S. Sen. Deb Fischer, a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, is continuing to use her voice to push for the sale of year-round E15. Sen. Fischer says it will help lower prices for families. Sen. Fischer commented on the E15 issue prior to touring Chief Ethanol in Lexington, Nebraska on Tuesday morning…

“We have a 20 day possibility here now, that the President put in effect where we could sell year-round but it has to be re-upped all the time. I want to make that permanent. I’ve introduced legislation in the past to do it. So I’ll be visiting with those folks at Chief about that, I’m sure.”

Senator Fischer is the lead sponsor of the bipartisan Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act. The bill would extend the Reid vapor pressure (RVP) volatility waiver to ethanol blends above 10 percent. It would increase market access and continue to allow retailers across the country to sell E15 and other higher-ethanol fuel blends year round, eliminating confusion at the pump.
