North Platte Police participate in seat belt initiative

North Platte Police — The North Platte Police Department used grant funds to participate in the Nebraska “Buckle Up Every Trip Every Time” initiative which took place from Nov. 23rd through Nov. 27th.

The department issued 32 citations during the 5-day enforcement period. In addition to the citations, a total of eighty-four traffic warnings were issued.

Two (2) arrests were made for driving under suspension, three (3) felony arrests were made, two (2) of the felony arrests were for controlled substance violations. One (1) misdemeanor arrest was made for carrying a concealed weapon.

One (1) arrest was made for driving under the influence of alcohol, two (2) arrests were made for minor in possession of alcohol and two (2) arrests were made for open containers of alcohol.
