The Nebraska baseball team received its third preseason top 25 ranking on Thursday, coming in at No. 25 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association’s (NCBWA) preseason poll.
The Huskers are coming off a regular-season Big Ten title and their first NCAA Regional Final appearance since 2007 after going 34-14 (31-12 Big Ten) in 2021.
The No. 25 ranking is the third ranking in the top 25 for the Huskers this preseason. Nebraska’s previously released preseason rankings are No. 20 by Baseball America and No. 22 by Perfect Game.
The Huskers are the lone Big Ten team in the NCBWA’s poll. Texas received the top spot, followed by No. 2 Vanderbilt and defending national champion Mississippi State in third. No. 4 Arkansas and No. 5 Stanford round out the top five.
Nebraska opens the 2022 campaign with a four-game series at Sam Houston Feb. 18-20 in Huntsville, Texas.
