Huskies Down the Dukes

September 25th, 2021 | Brandon Timoney

YORK-The Aurora Huskies, fresh off a week 4 win, and starting the season at 2-2, left no doubt
in a 48-7 dismantling of the York Dukes on Friday night at East Hill Stadium in York, Nebraska.
The difficulties for the Dukes started from the opening kickoff, and did not get any easier. The
Dukes won the coin toss and elected to receive the opening kickoff. The Dukes were unable to
field a short, squib kick, and the Huskies were able to recover their own opening kickoff deep
inside Duke Territory. A few plays later, fullback Britton Kemling was able to punch it into the
endzone to give the Huskies the lead, and from there the rout was on.
The Huskies were able to move the ball up and down the field with ease with the likes of
Kemling, and the backfield tandem of Mack Owens, and Carlos Collazo. Kemling tallied only 3
carries for 18 yards and a score. Owens carried the ball 14 times for 84 yards. Collazo racked up
126 yards on 18 carries and scored 6 times. Quarterback Drew Knust completed 10 of 11 passes
for 155 yards.
The Dukes, who had only racked up 26 yards of total offense by halftime, were able to move the
ball in the second half, and Marley Jensen found the endzone early in the fourth quarter. Jensen
racked up 48 yards on 12 carries and a score. Seth Erickson added 11 yards on a carry.
Quarterback Ryan Seevers completed 5 of 11 passes for 50 yards.
The Dukes (3-2) will hit the road once again to face the Hastings Tigers on October 1. Kickoff is
set for 7p.m. and will be broadcast on Kool Radio.
