KEARNEY – In front of a capacity crowd at the Health and Sports Center Saturday afternoon, the Nebraska Volleyball team downed Denver in their spring match in straight sets (25-13, 25-12, 25-15).

Final point in third set to give the Huskers the win.

Tickets were sold out in only 46 minutes and there were 5,094 people at the match. It was the first time for the Huskers in Kearney since 2017.

Head coach John Cook gave his thoughts on the match and playing in Kearney.

Junior outside hitter Lindsay Krause had a big game for the Huskers, leading the team in kills with 12. Coach Cook said it was a good spring for her, but there are still some steps to take as she continues to come back from her injury.

Merritt Beason and Skyler Pierce both had 10 kills as well. This wraps up the spring as a whole for the Big Red, and Cook talks about how productive the spring has been.

After no seniors on last years team, Nebraska will enter next season with a plethora of veteran leadership. Cook thinks that will help a lot for his squad headed into next year.

The Huskers will report back in early July, while some players will participate on the US National Team.
