Lincoln-Seward native and former Husker star punter Sam Koch is one of six former Huskers who will be inducted into the Nebraska Football Hall of Fame in September. Koch went on to punt for 16 years in the NFL with the Baltimore Ravens. Koch helped the team win Super Bowl XLVII when the Ravens beat the 49ers. He spoke this with the Rural Radio Networks Jayson Jorgensen.

As a Husker, Koch averaged 46.51 yards per punt in 2005 to earn first-team All-Big 12 honors and he was named a semifinalist for the Ray Guy Award. Koch averaged better than 44 yards per punt in his career to rank second in Nebraska history.
