Lexington, Neb. — Dr. Dale Grotelueschen of Harvard, Nebraska on Tuesday received the Nebraska Rural Radio Association’s 34th annual Service to Agriculture Award. Dr. Grotelueschen earned his doctor of veterinary medicine from the University of Missouri in 1974, followed by his master of science in clinical science from Colorado State University in 1992, and most recently was director of the UNL Great Plains Veterinary Educational Center in Clay Center, Nebraska. He expressed his appreciation for the recognition.

Dr. Grotelueschen said the impact of  the NRRA is evident on a plaque from the organization that was placed at the entrance to the “Reference Room” at the GPVEC at its dedication.  Dr. Grotelueschen says the plaque is an indication that support for agriculture by the Rural Radio Association is ongoing.

At the GPVEC, he says his goal over the years was to assist in the success of farm and ranch families, individuals and the overall agricultural industry.  Dr. Grotelueschen says he’s been fortunate to have been a veterinarian for many years, all of them  in the beef industry.

The Service to Agriculture award was presented during the NRRA’s 70th annual meeting in Lexington.   NRRA President Ben Steffen of Humboldt gave his report along with other department leaders among the NRRA’s radio stations.

Three new directors were elected to the NRRA Board.  They include Tracy Zink, a 3rd generation row crop producer from Indianola, Richard Johnson, a family farmer from Kimball and Chuck Folken a farmer and feedlot operator from Leigh.
