LINCOLN, NEBRASKA – Today, U.S. Congressman Mike Flood issued a statement ahead of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which is observed Monday, January 16th.
“On Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, we honor the life of a titan of the Civil Rights Movement. His fight for racial equality and ending segregation reshaped America and brought about a better life for millions. We will continue to carry his legacy forward in the years to come. As Dr. King once wrote, ‘Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.’”
