The group called Citizens Opposed to the Merger has rescheduled their public meeting due to the potential winter storm this week.  The new meeting date is Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 10 a.m. at the Phelps County Ag Center in Holdrege.

Citizens Opposed to the Merger organized as a non-profit corporation to amplify their efforts to stop the proposed merger between Central Nebraska Public Power & Irrigation District and the Dawson Public Power District.  They have already raised more than $225,000 towards their cause.

The meeting on January 25th will provide information on their position that the merger “doesn’t make sense from a water user’s perspective”.  It will include a presentation and a question-and-answer session.  The group’s President is Gary Robison at (308) 991-3039 or email citizensopposed1@gmail.com.  Citizens Opposed to the Merger also has a Facebook page.
